A perfect example of what Kurt Caselli was explaining in the different riding techniques between Whibley and Jarrett in these pictures below. The cautious Whibley and the aggressive Jarrett.

OMA Round 3 Race Report by: Shawn Hess
Round 3 of the 2009 OMA Series was held in Rio Grande, Ohio. It was co- sanctioned with the Extreme Dirt Series which helped to bring in a large turnout for the race. I was excited about the 16 hour trip to round three having come off of two wins in the previous rounds. I left for Ohio Thursday evening, and made a stop along the way to eat. Little did I know this would end up being a bad mistake. I ended up getting food poisoning and was sick the entire weekend all through Monday. I struggled to make the best of the situation especially since Mother Nature did her part by blessing us with gorgeous weather. The skies were clear and the temperatures rising, I knew the stage was set for a great race day. The race was also blessed with some extra talent from the GNCC series. Adam McGill, Jeff Pickens, Walker Fowler, Brian Wolf, and Dave Simmons to name a few that were in attendance to see what Bill Gusse had to offer.
The track was great! Bill did it again creating a track with something for everyone. This track was a little faster than the previous round, but I liked it. Fast fields, nice hill climbs, tight virgin woods, off camber trails, creeks, very little mud, dust, fast woods and a fire road or two.
Fourteen pros rolled up to the line, and I blasted off the line in second as we rounded the first corner. We set a fast pace and were moving along. Apparently it’s not the greatest idea to race if you are suffering from food poisoning, but after driving that far who wouldn’t. I wasn’t long until I started feeling the effects of this and started to drop back in the pack. Adam McGill took the win with Brian Wolf and Walker Fowler finishing out the podium. Kyle Martin took fourth followed by Bryan Hulsey the 2008 OMA Champion. I was excited to finish and ended up seventh.
I am looking forward to round four in Mesick, Michigan the Maxxis Wolverine on June 20- 21 so I can get my Hess Motorsports, Houser, Elka, Maxxis, Honda back on the podium! I hope to see you there!
